Tourism & the Global Economy: recovery strategies after Covid-19

  • AX Palace Hotel Triq Il - Kbira Tas-Sliema Malta (map)

Join the Maltese Tourism Leaders on the 2nd of December at 3 pm for an unmissable 3-hour long live conference.

The tourism sector has seen the most significant impact from COVID-19 with an almost complete shut-down in activities, events and bookings in many countries and from a global point of view. Certainly, the COVID-19 pandemic represents an unprecedented humanitarian crisis which has quickly developed into a severe global economic downturn that had and will continue to have long-lasting consequences. The tourism industry was one of the first sectors to be affected and will likely be one of the last ones to experience a meaningful recovery. There is substantial uncertainty on what will happen next: many external factors have an impact on the industry such as the actions of the vaccine in the medium/long term, the general health situation, countries requirements and changing travelling attitudes in the long-term across all the tourism segments including leisure, business and mass events.

What is clear, however, is that the road to recovery requires coordinated actions across all levels and stakeholders.

To face this unprecedented challenge, industry leaders need to monitor constantly the various data, almost foresee what will happen in the future, understand the evolution of the sector in a proper way and certainly make sound decisions.

What to expect?

During our live conference, Al-Sahm Women are going to meet important players and leaders of the Maltese Tourism Industry, such as Malta Tourism Authority, Air Malta, AX Hotels, The Phoenicia Malta, Lord Chambray Brewery, Tourism Bloggers, Tour guides and many more .

Together, we will analyse the Tourism Sector in Malta and from a global perspective. In order to face the current challenges in practice, we are going to discuss about the recovery plans for this industry in Malta, how tourism-focused businesses are (or should) already adjusting to changing Covid-19 realities and regulations, plus discover which actual plans the industry’s leaders have set to see growth of this industry in the near future.
